Harrodian
A video-led website designed to capture the warmth, character and distinctive spirit of “A Special Place to Learn” from the very first interaction.
Harrodian is an inspirational co-educational day school in Barnes, South-West London. Set on a serene, secluded riverside campus, Harrodian has a personality that’s hard to capture in words alone, so we let the school speak for itself. We designed and built a new website around a rich, autoplaying film experience, opening with a rotating sequence of short reels that immediately draw the visitor into daily life on site.

At the heart of the project was the school’s defining narrative, “A Special Place to Learn.” We structured the entire homepage around the three pillars of the Harrodian Spirit: Nurturing the Individual, Educating the Whole Child and Cherishing the Community. Each was given its own space to breathe, while building towards a single, cohesive story about who Harrodian is.
The design balances elegance with energy. Generous imagery and video sit alongside clean, confident typography, reflecting both the natural beauty of the campus and the vivacity of school life. A clear, intuitive structure guides four very different audiences (prospective Pre-Prep parents through to Sixth Formers) to exactly the right part of the site, without ever losing the sense of one unified school.
