Ampleforth College Websites

Ampleforth College in North Yorkshire, is one of the leading independent schools in the United Kingdom. The school is centred around Ampleforth Abbey, and is situated in a beautiful valley with many sports pitches, forests and lakes. Ampleforth is a Benedictine School, in the Roman Catholic tradition, under guidance and care of the monks of Ampleforth Abbey - providing a thourough and broad-based education.

We were commissioned to design and build websites for the main College, Ampleforth Abbey, the prep school St Martin's Ampleforth, the Old Amplefordians, the Hospitality and Pastoral services, and the St Alban Sports Centre.

The sites are powered using the Typo3 Content Management System which is designed very much in mind for the many needs of large educational establishments. It offers full flexibility and extendability and also features an accomplished set of ready-made interfaces, functions and modules. We implemented sophisticated news and calendar systems - which output relevant items throughout the sites.

The respective sites are managed by a large number of staff - who are given different levels of access and editing facilities.
